Marge Coffey, Executive Director/Owner

Marge Coffey

Marge Coffey graduated from Bellevue/NYC nursing program in 1965. After 20 years working in the hospital as a CCU/ICU nurse, she joined with her colleague, Carol Kolar to start South Shore Home Health Services, Inc. In 1992 she graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelor of Science. Marge has been actively involved in the NYS Association of Health Care Providers serving on both the long Island chapter and State Boards. Marge was the recipient of the NYS Health Care Providers Founder Spirit award in 2004. On a personal note, Marge loves playing Golf, Tennis and enjoys spending time with her 6 grandchildren.


Carol Kolar, Chief Operating Officer/Owner

Carol Kolar

Carol Kolar graduated from the Bellevue/NYC Nursing Program in 1967. She has been actively involved as a Registered Nurse since that time. This includes managing the Quality Assurance Program, including overseeing the agency’s telemedicine, UTI prevention and falls prevention programs. These programs are what make South Shore Home Health Services, Inc. stand out from the rest. On a personal note, Carol has resided in Sayville for over 40 years and has been actively involved in many local community programs. She is the grandmother of 17 children and enjoys spending time with them.



As nurse owners and operators, their first concern is always the patients in their programs and the staff that care for them. Both the office staff and field staff enjoy working for this progressive agency. Many of the employees have been part of the South Shore family for double digit years. Marge and Carol have become role models for what nurses can achieve with hard work and a dream. They are grateful for all their success.

South Shore Home Health Services, Inc. has been an active member of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers since 1988. Joint Commission Accredited since 1996.
